   QSCP meetings have been held every year since 1996. Early meetings usually lasted for 3-4 days, while recent meetings last for up to 6-7 days. It is the general policy of QSCP meetings that all oral presentations be 'plenary' (no parallel sessions) and of equal duration: from 20 min (including discussion) when the number of speakers is large compared to the length of the meeting (e.g. at Granada, Spain, in April 1998, with ~ 100 participants) to 45 min (including discussion) in the opposite case (e.g. at Bratislava, Slovakia, in September 2002, with ~ 40 participants). At Marly-le-Roi, France, in April 1999 (~ 115 participants), there were introduced afternoon parallel sessions, and at Cambridge, UK, in September 2010 (~ 135 participants), there were introduced shorter-length (15 min) talks.
   As it seems the Kanazawa meeting will gather a number of speakers comparable to those of Marly-le-Roi or Cambridge, it was found necessary to reduce the length of most talks from 30 min to 25 min (including discussion), yielding a total of 90 talks dispatched in 24 sessions:
  • 6 early morning sessions on topics of general interest, gathering three 25-min plenary talks each (including discussion), yielding 18 plenary talks;
  • 6 late morning and 4 afternoon sessions, also on topics of general interest, gathering four 25-min plenary talks each (including discussion), yielding another 40 plenary talks;
  • 8 afternoon sessions on more specialized topics, gathering four 25-min parallel talks each (including discussion), yielding 32 parallel talks;
  • Every day the first morning and first afternoon (plenary or parallel) talks are 5 min longer than the following talks.
   Constraints of the Ishikawa Prefecture Museum of Art (opening 9:00, closing 18:00), where the talks will be given, do not allow us to start too early or to end too late. But there will be two evening sessions of 25 flash (3 min) oral presentations of posters before their display (together with a short snack), between 18:15 and 21:00, at the close Shiinoki Cultural Complex.
   The program pattern has been set so as to allow a few participants to attend only one part of the meeting. Please check this frame and let us know which sessions (Mo2, Th'3, etc.) would have your preference. The Executive Committee will do its best to satisfy requests.
   The number of sessions devoted to a particular topic could be adapted to the number of speakers requesting a talk within this topic.
